Ajuga, Inc. and guest artist Dr. Melissa Thomas-Van Gundy painted these three dumpsters in downtown Elkins, WV last summer to help with the “Elkins Make It Shine” initiative.

We chose to paint icons of rural WV in three different but complementary styles. This project is the cover art installation on the Mountain Arts District’s Facebook page—another project Ajuga is proud to be affiliated with. Our contribution is located at the Seneca Mall parking lot next to Mary’s Alley (see location below).

Elkins Make It Shine” is an all-volunteer community-building Facebook group created and spear-headed by Melodee Price. It’s goal is to clean up and improve our homes, neighborhoods and city. The dumpster painting project involved various artists—both hobbyists and professionals—painting dumpsters throughout the town. Take a look at their “Elkins Make It Shine” Facebook page for projects.
